Matt understands how to tackle the complexity of healthcare operations and create tangible results. That’s because he’s been there, in the thick of delivering cost reduction and/or revenue enhancement programs that have led to $22 million through customized contracting, rebate maximization, cost avoidance, net revenue optimization, and operational/clinical standardization initiatives; $30 million in net revenue contribution through creation of a new service offering that assisted more than 3,000 government oncology patients in its first eighteen months post implementation.
He believes that healthcare is an industry in need of meaningful change but recognizes both the resistance and complexity that limits transformation. He looks for opportunities to be an architect of change and is especially energized by initiatives that improve the patient experience.
Prior to joining West Monroe, Matt spent more than a decade in executive roles, including leadership of the Corporate Pharmacy Services function, with Cancer Treatment Centers of America. He began his career as a consultant with Capgemini LLC. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago.
What makes Matt different
A parent of three young children, Matt has little free time – but when he does, he enjoys cooking, travel, and golf. He played Division III football in college, primarily for the camaraderie and love of the sport.
He considers himself fortunate to have lived in several great US cities but feels most energized and inspired by Chicago for its culinary scene, second-to-none skyline, architectural history, and people – “a perfect blend of tough but kind, hard-working but fun loving, generous, and humble.”
Where Matt makes an impact
Matt enjoys mentoring young talent and takes great pride in watching team members succeed and grow their careers.
He has supported his communities in various ways, from organizing several fundraising events for the American Cancer Society to serving on the Vizient Pharmacy Executive Council to volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.
